A Helping Hand

We have been dedicated since the start of The Doghouse to help dogs in need. Our focus is to make sure they get the chance to have a forever home. We have taken the extra step to not only put together charity events but to lend out a helping hand to foster dogs who need just a bit more attention. Our friends at Animal House Shelter pick out certain dogs that have a hard time meeting possible owners but are dog friendly and healthy. We then "rehabilitate" them by simply letting them play with dogs all day, getting the loving care of our wonderful staff 24/7, learning some basic manners and listening skills. By using this process we have currently placed over 10 dogs in forever homes and we plan to keep that growing. Please join us in helping Animal House Shelter find homes for these extra special pets.

Penny
Breed: Aussie/Cattle Dog Mix
Age: 2 years
Sex: Female - Spayed

We all here feel that Penny is a very special dog. Within the first five minutes of meeting here she is shy and hesitant. But after those five minutes she is your best friend. She warmed up to all the staff here very quickly and the dogs just love her. She seemed to be more affectionate toward men at first, but now she has some close new girlfriends :) She is athletic and smart as a whip and has been very sweet with children. We don't know why she has been passed up for so long. Feel free to come meet her here anytime, please just call first. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested and started on Heartgard Plus & Frontline Plus. We do not have a history on most of the animals up for adoption since we rescue them Animal Control and they are usually labeled as strays. We can only tell you their behavior since they have been with us. Adoption Donation: $300

If you are interested in adopting any of our fosters, please contact Animal House Shelter directly to inquire all the proper forms. A meeting will then be arranged for your whole family to meet the foster here, at our facility. Hopefully you will then turn your forms and payment into the shelter and take home your new forever friend.

You are more then welcome to drop off any items for the shelter at our location any time of the year. As well as monetary donations. There is an online donation spot on the shelters website. Don't forget you can always foster and sponsor one of the pets there too!
